Puttin theory into practice
These recordings are in the form of a course aimed at practitioners who are already familiar with the basics of Qigong. If you are new to Qigong, please complete the Qigong for Beginners Course as it will set you up for these lessons.
There are two fundamental theories involved in Qigong. The Yin / Yang Theory and the Five Elements Theory. In this course of lessons we will work with:
- “Stand alone” Qigong that works with all Five Elements.
- Mixtures of Qigong, from various sets, that work with individual Elenments so that all Five Elements are covered.
- The Controlling Cycle (The Ko Cycle) within Five Elements Qigong.
- The Nurturing Cycle (The Sheng Cycle) within Five Elements Qigong.
- The theory and the application of the theory.
Among the “stand alone” exercises will be:
- Connecting Heaven and Earth.
- Change the Sinews, from the Ten Fundamental Treasures.
- The Sun and the Moon, from the Embroidered Brocade.
Additional Qigong will be drawn from:
- The Shibashi.
- The Ba Duan Jin.
- The Fve Taoist Yin.
- The Silk Exercises.
The Five Elements Theory divides the movement from Yin to Yang into 5 essences. This allows for the bracketing of various qualities and makes it easier to identify and understand any imbalances in the Qi.
All Five Elements Qigong works with the Qi that flows throughout the meridian system. That is the 12 Classic Meridians. It does not involve the Extraordinary Meridians (the Exceptional Vessels).
With Five Elements Qigong, the flow of the Qi is generally experienced as a linear flow but this is only the start of your experience as the Qi flows in all directions and is not constrained by linearity.

The Five Taoist Yin Qigong adhere to the underlying precepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This course of lessons are true Qigong and they work with the Meridians Internally. Without this they are not Qigong.
If you are new to Qigong please do our Qigong for Beginners course before joining these classes.
